Australia Compelled Google and Facebook to Pay Media Outlets for News Content

They specifically mentioned the name of Facebook and Google to compel them for paying Australian media companies. The following conflict arose when Australian Consumer Commission and Competition was ceased to develop a specific voluntary code to demeanor the watchdogs. However, they stated to the Australian Government that it was against the liability to create a payment agreement for it.


The Australian Consumer Commission and Competition were working on the subsequent agreement for a long time. They get inspired to do so from an inquiry through their own 2019 digital platform. However, Google seems quite delightful in their interview when asked about the decision made by the Australian Government. The company said that they are helping Australian news media companies for subsequent agreement. They added that they are intense to work along with Australian publishing companies alongside they will help and support ACCC to create a Code of Conduct.
