5 Games that May Never Appear on PS Plus Free Games List
Sony has
given away several games free for the subscribers of PS Plus and the tradition
once set in still in continuation for a decade. In the near future also, Sony
has no intention to stop giving away such games for the subscribers of PS Plus.
The company has given all hints to continue its tradition of broadcasting free
games every month for its PS Plus subscribers. However, with the launch of PS5
which could be launched later in this year the company could bring some change
in its policies but it will be not implemented in the case of monthly free
games offered by the company. Even though the fans have always been vocal about
the games they are willing to see appearing on the gaming console still there
are some games which could be never be dropped on PS Plus.
There may be
several reasons why some games may never offer for free on PS plus. Some of the
reasons may also be motivated by internal industry politics. Sony has never
shied away when it comes to adding its games to the free monthly service nut
still some of the games which could never be available for the fans. Here is
the overview of these games.
1.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey
The
role-playing video game developed by Ubisoft Quebec is revolving around the
mythological history of a war that took place between Sparta and Athens. The
game has all elements of role-playing game in which the players will start
playing the game by controlling the female or male mercenary. The skill tree
system of the game provides an opportunity for the players to unlock new and
enhanced abilities for themselves. The game may never appear on the free game
service of Sony as the franchise lacks in introducing the most popular games on
PS Plus. However, the fans have got its previous two titles AC3 in the year
2013 and AC Freedom Cry in the year 2017. It is quite clear that there is quite
an inconsistency in the appearance of these games on PS Plus.
2.
Doom Eternal
Developed by
id Software and published by Bethesda, Doom Eternal is the fifth main game in
the franchise. The game was well received by the fans and also got praise for
its graphics, campaigns, combat mechanics and soundtrack. Not only the Doom
Eternal but its other series include Doom, Fallout and The Elder Scrolls were
also not appeared on PS Plus. Bethesda is an independent company just like CD
Projekt Red and has proprietary to launch games on PCs. So, it could be
concluded that there is no industry politics behind the absence of Bethesda
from PS Plus.
3.
The Witcher 3
The reason
is still unknown why the game was not appeared on Ps Plus and so remains a
mystery. The franchise received massive applause for its combat system,
gameplay, narrative, world design and visuals. The critically acclaimed series
has all the ingredients which have made it an enormous hit among the fans. The
series witnessed a massive surge in its sales after its adaptation on Netflix.
It seems that its debut on Netflix is doing much better for the developer and
so they are not in a mood to launch it on PS Plus.
4.
Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice
The
action-adventure game was developed and published by Ninja Theory which was
acquired by Microsoft in the year 2018. The acquisition of the developer Ninja
Theory made it toward impossible to launch the game on PS Plus as the
intellectual property rights now belong to Microsoft. The next generation of
the game is currently in development for Xbox One, PC and Xbox Series X which
indicates that Microsoft is now focused on the next generation gaming consoles.
5.
Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead
Redemption 2
The reason
behind the absence of both the games from PS Plus is quite similar, and it
seems that shortly also the games will not be launched on PS plus. GTA with its
launch has become an enormous hit which restricts it think about anything else.
