Fix: Sharing Tab Missing in The Folder Properties
Sometimes when you open the Properties of any folder, you find
that the Sharing Tab is missing from the panel containing General, Security,
Customize, and Previous Version tabs. Here you can learn how to get the sharing
tab back.
In your PC, you store a lot of data and files saved in various
folders. If you wish to know the details of any folder, then you have to
right-click on that folder and the Context Menu will appear. Here you will
select the Properties option. Then the user will see the Context Menu with
several tabs containing the details of those folders. The tab shown here are:
●
General: Here, you can
get the information regarding the folder size, number of files present in that
folder, its location, when it was created, and the Attributes of that folder.
●
Security: This tab
contains the information of Groups and users present and the permission given
to those users. Here you can change the control of other users on that folder
by clicking on the Advanced button.
●
Sharing: This tab
contains three parts: Network File and folder Sharing, Advanced Sharing, and
Password Protection. From here, you can share these folders to the local user
and other computers connected from the same network. The Advanced Sharing
option allows you to share the folder form the specific users in the same
network.
●
Customize: This Tab
contains three subsections: What kind of folder you want, Folder pictures, and
Folder Icons.
●
Previous Versions:
This folder contains the information about where these folders come from (which
backup or device.)
There are some moments when the Sharing tab does not show up in
the Context Menu. The absence of this tab restricts you from seeing the
details; that's how many profiles are sharing the data of that folder, and
also, you can't share that folder with other profiles too.
There are some remedies present to resolve this problematic
situation, and they mentioned below:
Enabling the Security and Sever Account Manager
In this method, you have to enable the Security and Sever
account manager. For that, follow these steps:
●
Launch Run.
●
Enter service.msc and
hit the OK button, and the Service Manager window will open.
●
Now, scroll down to
Server Accounts Manager and Security Accounts Manager
●
If these managers are
disabled, then click on them to open.
●
Go to Startup Type and
choose the Automatic from the Drop Down Menu.
●
Then you have to
right-click on them. The list will appear and choose the Start option.
Make Modification in Certain Registries
Fix: Registry 1
●
Launch Run.
●
Enter regedit and tap
on OK button.
●
Go to
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa" key.
●
Now open forceguest
DWORD, here you have to change the value to ZERO.
●
Now, Reboot your
computer.
Fix: Registry 2
●
Launch Run.
●
Enter regedit and tap
on OK.
●
Go to
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell
Extensions\Blocked" key address.
●
Then
find {f81e9010-6ea4-11ce-a7ff-00aa003ca9f6} DWORD, and open it by double
click and now delete it.
●
Now, Restart your
computer.
By completing these steps, you can eliminate the glitch and
reinstate the Sharing tab where it belongs. Once you got back the Sharing tab
now you can share the folder with other local computers.
